Mission

The Circular Hub is dedicated to accelerating the transition to a sustainable circular economy in the Sydney region by connecting individuals, businesses, and organisations. Through our directory, we facilitate collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the adoption of circular practices, empowering communities to reduce waste, optimise resource use, and build a resilient, regenerative future.

Background

Originating from grassroots community recycling initiatives, Circular Hub has evolved into a pivotal resource supporting the circular economy industry across Sydney. Our platform has grown from local efforts to a growing directory that connects people and services, fostering collaboration and innovation. We aim to empower communities to embrace circular practices, reduce waste, and contribute to a sustainable future.

Frameworks & Standards

Circular Hub anchors its directory and community initiatives in internationally recognised standards to ensure credibility, transparency, and measurable impact. At the core of this approach are the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which provide a global framework for addressing environmental, social, and economic challenges. Directory listings are encouraged to align with the SDGs, make a formal pledge, or follow equivalent sustainability and circular economy standards.

In addition to the SDGs, Circular Hub promotes the adoption of Circular Economy standards, such as those developed by the ISO, which guide responsible material use, product design, and lifecycle management. By encouraging adherence to these frameworks, Circular Hub supports consistent, accountable practices across the circular economy sector and facilitates a connected ecosystem of businesses and organisations working toward measurable sustainability outcomes.

Circular Economy Standards

ISO

International Standards help companies ensure that their products align with principles like durability, reusability, upgradability, or repairability. They foster consumer trust in shared, recycled, repaired or upcycled goods and components as well as relevant services, and enable collaboration between economic partners.
